Laser Dentistry

Diode Soft Tissue Laser

Here at Truist Dental, Dr. Thirtha uses the Diode soft tissue laser which allows her to provide you with gum and soft tissue treatments that are more effective and more comfortable. Laser dentistry is less invasive than traditional dental procedures, which can minimize your pain and shorten your recovery time.

Lasers are an effective way to treat Canker sores which generally reduces the healing time and prevents the sores from returning in the same spot.  Also, if you experience a tingling sensation prior to a Canker sore appearing, laser treatment can prevent a breakout.

Diode lasers to eliminate bacteria and other pathogens are treatments referred to as laser decontamination and/or laser bacterial reduction (LBR).  They are a quick and painless process that requires no anesthetic injections or specified home care, and can effectively control harmful bacteria that can cause inflammation, infection and other serious oral health complications.

Laser Dental Treatment

Periodontal Gum Disease

Dr. Thirtha may recommend laser gum treatment if your smile is affected by periodontal gum disease which is caused by bacteria in plaque. Plaque build-up on the teeth can cause inflammation and infection in the gums and supporting tissues. When left untreated, gum disease can lead to receding gums, tooth and bone loss. Our laser gum treatment will kill bacteria, remove infected tissue, and encourage the growth of healthy gum tissue.

Dr. Thirtha is committed to staying current with the advances in dentistry by continuing education so she can provide you and your family with the latest information and recommendations to care for your oral health.
