We’ll Get You Smiling and Chewing Again!
A denture is a removable appliance to replace missing teeth that is made of flexible acrylic, plastic, cast metal or a combination of materials. Complete dentures are designed to replace all of the teeth in an arch. Partial dentures replace several missing teeth by resting on the remaining teeth in an arch to support the appliance. Dentures are often combined with dental implants to further improve biting and chewing capabilities.
Our goal is to save your teeth whenever possible! In most cases, removal of remaining teeth to replace them with a full set of complete dentures is the last option considered. With no teeth or opposing forces in the mouth, jaw bone levels can deteriorate over time. If all of a patient’s teeth are lost at an early age, this can result in serious conditions in later years.
Implant-Supported Dentures
Denture Stabilization
If your dentures are uncomfortable or loose and denture adhesive is a nuisance, an implant-supported denture might be the answer.
An implant-supported denture is removable for cleaning, similar to traditional dentures. However, the difference is that your new denture has special fittings that ‘snap’ onto dental implants that have been strategically placed for support. The dental implants hold the denture firmly in place, thus eliminating the need for denture adhesives.
Fabrication of a custom-fitted denture begins with a thorough examination including study models, digital x-rays and photographs. Our dentist works closely with our dental laboratory and dental specialists to design and place a denture that meets your specific needs of fit and esthetics.
