Bridging The Gap
Dental bridges are used to replace one or more missing teeth. They can be either fixed bridges (permanently attached) or removable, with both types attaching to the abutment teeth which are on either side of the gap. These abutment teeth are usually covered in crowns to help strengthen them so they can support the extra pressure created during biting and chewing. Fixed bridges are bonded into place and can only be removed by a dental professional while removable bridges can be taken out and cleaned.
